We never did quite get to enjoy the formula behind the supremely popular Shadow of the Colossus by Team ICO on the PC. Now we finally have the next best thing, and its called Prey for the Gods.
From what we can tell from the trailer, you’re a warrior of some kind in a bleak landscape, battling against enormous enemies that you can climb. We wouldn’t call it a blatant clone of Shadow of the Colossus but it certainly seems to be hitting the same formula, albeit with some differences.
There isn’t much hints on your motivations behind hunting the gargantuan creatures besides “discovering the mystery behind a never-ending winter, but you also get to use a bow, and the protagonist is apparently female as well.
It doesn’t look like you will be getting a companion animal either but there might be other enemies on the landscape besides the titan monsters you hunt; the trailer shows a pack of wolves that may or may not be an aggressive mob.
Prey for the Gods doesn’t yet have a release date, but they’ve confirmed that it would be out for PC and Mac so we can probably expect to see it on Steam when its ready. You can check out their official site here.
