Eidos Montreal, Razer and Open Bionics are undertaking an endevour to make those augmented limbs you find in Deus Ex very, very real.
While they won’t be focusing on stuff that would let you hide hidden blades in your arms, they are in fact working on augmented replacement limbs, or prosthetics are we mostly know them.
With the added bonus of looking like they were straight out of the Deus Ex games.
The visual designs and concepts for the prosthetics will be provided by Eidos Montreal, the very people behind the Deus Ex games. The “Adam Arm” as its shown above is based off Adam Jensen, protagonist of Deus Ex: Human Revolution who needed both arms replaced.
The designs are then taken by Open Bionics to create not just functional but aesthetically pleasing replacements for your lost limbs.
As for Razer, they will be more involved on the retail side of things; using its Stargazer camera and motion tracking tech to allow would be users to try their replacements virtually. In other words, it would allow them to see how it looks like as if it was already implanted.
The best part, the blueprints and designs will be essentially be given away for free by Eidos Montreal and Open Bionics to anyone who has the resources to replicate their work.
Perhaps this is what the world needs to finally take that step forward? either way, we have high hopes for this collaboration of tech.
