Looks like the show is on a roll, having recently cast the new Red Ranger and Black Ranger for the movie reboot that is set to hit the cinemas in 2017. Earlier we found out that Naomi Scott (Terra Nova, The Martian) will be the Pink Ranger and now new actor Dacre Montgomery is announced as the new Red Ranger with  Ludi Lin as the new Black Ranger.

So far, nothing much known about the actor and his IMDB portfolio looks pretty barren. It is interesting to see how a new actor who has no connections to any previous films like this will able to carry the Boy Scout leader type like the Red Ranger or Jason.

Ludi Lin on the other hand, has starred before in Monster Hunt, a chinese fantasy film so that makes him a bit more experienced. He looks like he could be playing the all-knowing but tough asian trope but we’re not sure just yet.

And don’t forget, they tweeted the new Pink Ranger some time back too:

The Lionsgate studio movie is being directed by Dean Israelite (Project Almanac) while Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz (X-Men First Class, Thor) are working on the script. Haim Saban, Brain Casentini and Allision Shearmur are on board as producers of the movie.

We do wonder if the new actors can hack the role.
