The producers for the live-action Robotech movie dropped some deets on their upcoming movie during Long Beach Comic Con last weekend and it’s likely to start production soon.
As of the moment they’re just waiting for the final version of the script.
The movie is being directed by James Wan, whom the show’s producers are quite happy with due to his knowledge of Robotech being really good. In an interview earlier this year, Wan mentioned Macross by name in regards to Robotech, which you can see in the video below.
Robotech in its essence is actually made up of three different anime series, namely Macross, Southern Cross and Mospeada, though most who watched Robotech would know Macross from its story and events from the first season.
No word on who the cast is going to be yet, but we’re hoping they’ll reveal that soon.
