Fresh from Xiaomi’s explosive reveal of their flagship killer phones, now we have another possible serious contender from China, the OnePlus. Came out of nowhere last year, the OnePlus One is considered one of the most budget friendly flagship model that is only hampered by it’s weird invite system for prospective buyers. Nevertheless, many people are amazed that such model can exist with such price, which rattles big players like Apple and Samsung.
Now, the rumours are running amok with possible specs for OnePlus Two, their next model. If the rumours are true, we are looking at another model using Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 CPU with 4GB RAM to boot. Despite the old rumours of OnePlus might have a smaller display based on feedback from customers of OnePlus One, this report noted that it is still a 5.5-inch display with 2k resolution (to be specific, a 2560 x 1440). Another important bit of news is it came with a rather generous 3300mAh battery which is surely a good news for power users. Also, the developers are looking at ways to reduce the dimensions of the new model according to the rumours.
However Cyanogen fans might be disappointed as OnePlus Two might go for OnePlus ROM based on new Android 5.0 Lollipop instead. This is in the view of legal issues affecting the OnePlus especially the big case in India, where the model was forced to cease selling in the country due to Cyanogen copyright issues.
With a speculated pricing of around RM1545, this is a hard hitting, very tempting and budget friendly flagship smartphone in a nutshell. The OnePlus Two is believed to be launching soon in the second or third quarter of 2015.
