Seems like the Saint Seiya franchise is next to hit the realm of live-action movies, as Hollywood is going to be working on a film based on Masami Kurumada’s Saint Seiya manga.
As the story goes, it follows Seiya, a mortal who has trained to earn the sacred cloth of Pegasus, eventually joining the Saints, a group dedicated to defending the universe and the reincarnation of the goddess Athena.
Director Tomasz Baginski (Katedra) is directing, with Toei Animation‘s Yoshiyuki Ikezawa and Kozo Morishita. Toei Animation and Chinese based A Really Good Film Company (ARGF) co-producing the film.
The original Saint Seiya manga ran from 1986 to 1990, spawning a number of animes, anime films, OVAs and even a spinoff manga.
There aren’t any more details about the movie yet, like a possible release date and cast but we’ll be keeping our ear to the ground for more!
