Scared RIder Xechs

Rejoice all you otome fans, the Scared Rider Xechs visual novel game is getting it’s own TV anime adaptation and it’s slated for a summer 2016 release!

The game by Rejet and RED Entertainment was first released back in 2010 for the Playstation 2 and also released for the Playstation Portable in 2012 and Playstation Vita in 2015. The story centres around 17 year old Akira Asagi, a female commander of a defense agency known as LAG. LAG was setup to counter the invasion of Nightfly O’Note, a mysterious alien invader.

Asagi, who is the commander of the LAG Ryukyu base is in charge of training five young men, pilots of the Scared Rider Xechs (SRX), a fighting unit that combats the Nightfly O’Note threat. And being the romance visual novel that the game is, it’s pretty obvious what the player has to do throughout the game.

The anime itself will be animated by the studio famous for both Macross and Aquarion, Studio Satelight, with Hideto Komori (who has done work for Akame GA Kill, Azumanga Daioh and many more) as director. Naruki Nakagawa (Ergo Proxy) will be supervising the series scripts, while Koji Haneda (Blassreiter, Ah My Goddess)  will be adapting the game’s original character designs.

The cast for the anime has also been announced with Tatsuhisa Suzuki as Christoph Yōsuke Komae, Eiji Takemoto as Fernandes, Mamoru Miyano as Takuto Kirisawa, Daisuke Namikawa as Les Paul, Takashi Kondo as Yūji Tsuga, Rikiya Koyama as Diviser, Hiro Shimono as Hiro Kurama, Naozumi Takahashi as Duesenberg, Hiroki Takahashi as Kazuki Suzuki, Nobuhiko Okamoto as Rickenbacker, Kenn as Hijiri Mutsuki, and Yuuki Fujiwara as Epiphone.
