If there is one book adaptation many of us have been waiting for, it has got to be American Gods by Neil Gaiman. While we know that it was getting a TV series, we have yet to get a glimpse of it. The wait is over as the trailer for the series is now out.

You’ll be delighted to know that all the gods are in the trailer, with the exception of a few, including the cast just announced at the San Diego Comic-Con 2016 American Gods panel.

The cast of the series includes Kristin Chenoweth, Pablo Schreiber, Gillian Anderson, Crispin Glover, Orlando Jones, Dane Cook, Jonathan Tucker, Yetide Badaki, Bruce Langley, Ricky Whittle, Ian McShane, and Emily Browning.

For those of you who are unfamiliar with the book, it follows the adventures of ex-convict Shadow Moon who teams up with a mysterious con-man called Mr. Wednesday (secretly a god himself) and gets embroiled in a battle between the old mythological gods, and the “new” American gods that are based on greed, technology and celebrity.

Hannibal creator Bryan Fuller and Michael Green, a Heroes alum, will be showrunning the series while Neil Gaiman himself will be executive producing (and writing a few episodes himself).
