Confident, smug Matt Murdock

Finally, Netflix shows off a more complete trailer of forthcoming series on blind-lawyer vigilante Daredevil based on a popular Marvel Comics superhero. The series stars Charlie Cox (Boardwalk Empire, The Theory of Everything) as the main hero who is seen in the trailer using his super heightened senses to fight crime in the crime infested city of New York. His nemesis, Wilson Fisk aka Kingpin (played by Vincent D’Onofrio) did not take too kindly to his sense of justice. The rest of cast are Rosario Dawson, Deborah Ann Woll, Elden Henson and Scott Glenn as mentor of the hero, Stick.

This would be first of the four series (plus one mini-series) planned based in Hell Kitchen by Marvel, while the company promises a much darker and grittier storytelling for Daredevil series.

Hopefully, this would be a better treatment of Daredevil compared to the horrid 2003 version starring Ben Affleck. Despite the cold reception, the movie made US$180 million and inspired a spin off movie, Elektra which completely bombed at the boxoffice.

The series is due to kick it’s way in Netflix on 10 April 2015.
