The first movie is out but now, you’ll be able to check out the new Shingeki no Kyojin: End of the World trailer. Yep, TOHO Japan has posted a 90 second trailer for the second live action adaptation of Attack on Titan/ Shingeki no Kyojin, based on the hit manga series by Hajime Isayama.
Theme song “SOS” will be performed by SEKAI NO OWARI who also provides the theme song for first movie, “ANTI-HERO”. The crew is the same as the first movie with the very same cast are back provided their character did not become munchies for the Titans in the first movie.
The first movie met with tepid reaction from critics in Japan and largely lambasted by the fans. The movie critics felt the first movie lacks coherent plot, senseless direction and lackluster main characters whereas the fans are foaming in mouth since the movie took too much liberty with the source material – “disrespectful changes from original”. The storm of criticism even provoked the director Shinji Higuchi and special effects director of the movie to reply sarcastically to the movie critics via Twitter.
The movie’s performance at the Japanese box office was below expectations of its producer due to a string of bad reviews and the company refused to divulge the sales revenue of the first movie. The second movie is set for release in Japanese cinemas on 19 September 2015.
