Originally set to release 7 October, Five Nights at Freddy’s: Sister Location has been delayed by creator Scott Cawthon on grounds that the game is too scary.
The delay was announced on Steam, with him stating that some of the elements of the game were far too dark for even his liking.
Hey guys, I wanted to post an announcement that this game might be postponed, and I’m not really sure when it would be released.
There are certain plot elements that are very dark, to the point where I sometimes feel sick. There would be no easy fix to this. I either release it Friday as it is, or I delay it by several months to completely rework the plot into something kid-friendly.
I’m unsure what I’m going to do. As always, thanks for your support.
The posting does appear a bit like a publicity stunt, but it’s hard to say for certain. Perhaps Cawthon is concerned that the new game might be a bit too much for the younger fans of his games or it’s genuinely more than the average person can handle.
Either way, we don’t have a prospective date when Sister Location will in fact, come out but hopefully the delay isn’t as long as it sounds.
