The new stage/arena - Forgotten Waterfall
The new stage/arena – Forgotten Waterfall

Capcom has announced more details on the upcoming beta test version of Street Fighter V on PS4. It is set for a kick off on 23 July 2015 and will be online for a total of five days.

Four fighters will be available immediately (Ryu, Chun Li, M.Bison, Charlie Nash) whereas the new characters set to join the roster on 25 July. Capcom said that the reason for delay for Cammy and Birdie is because they want to experiment the new content delivery system. There will be no local multiplayer option as the developer stressing that this beta is to test online functions.

Online matchmaking will be different in a sense that players will choose his/her fighter then advance into the training mode before being transported into the arenas/stages, after being paired up with an opponent. Three stages confirmed for this beta – Bustling Side Street, Terminal Station and all new Forgotten Waterfall. The new stage is supposedly based on New Zealand.

Anyone in North America and Latin America who pre-ordered this will gain access to this beta immediately. For Europe, Middle East, South Africa, Asia and Japan, users must sign up or apply for beta access by registering at the website or downloading a beta test ticket. More details can be read on the PlayStation blog.

This is first of three phases for PS4 beta. Sadly, no new  development for the PC version to this date yet.

On the other hand, Yoshinori Ono from Capcom unveils another new stage that is set in Brazil and possibly a new fighter who also hails from Brazil. We are guessing it is either Blanka (heavily hinted in this video) or Sean, Ken’s wannabe student in Street Fighter III.
