So after wondering just what exactly will the title of the next Star Wars movie will be, it’s finally been announced and boy, does it seem foreboding. Starwars.com, the official Star Wars website for the franchise just announced that Star Wars Episode VIII’s official title will be, Star Wars: The Last Jedi.
The first thing we noticed, aside, the foreboding title, is the dark red outline on the Star Wars wording. This is, if we’re not wrong, the first time those colours have been used, apart from the usual white and yellow.
Combined with the finality that the title seems to suggest, we’re pretty sure that the next instalment of the Star Wars isn’t going to be full of hope as the first. Heck, it might even take a note out of The Empire Strikes Back, just like The Force Awakens was somewhat similar to A New Hope.
Star Wars: The Last Jedi is being written and directed by Rian Johnson and it’s currently undergoing post-production in anticipation of it December 15 release this year. We’ll be seeing the return of the previous cast, including the late Carrie Fisher as most of her scenes would have been filmed before her passing last year.
Hopefully, we’ll know more about the movie once the long-awaited trailer comes out and maybe we’ll get something as good and dark as the best Star Wars movie out of the whole series so far, The Empire Strikes Back.
