It’s been awhile since we’ve taken a look at Superman in comic form (what with the movie versions being a lot more distracting) but it seems Supes has completely ditched his Clark Kent alter-ego for something else completely.
This big reveal apparently comes in Action Comics #45 where Superman creates a truck driver persona named Archie Clayton. This is mostly due to Lois Lane writing a story that exposed his identity and resulted in him getting fired from The Daily Planet. The new persona isn’t just for hiding though, he’s using it to go undercover to try and solve a conspiracy that’s forming against him.
To complete it all, he’s also living in a trailer somewhere and uses this high tech “light refractor” from WayneTech that distorts his face just enough that people don’t realise just who he exactly is. He probably should have adopted it sooner because a pair of glasses just doesn’t cut it these days.
We’re not sure where the story will lead on from here, but this is an interesting development after Superman has been running with his Clark Kent identity for so very long. Maybe it has something to do with the Man of Steel comics as well? we aren’t certain. But at the very least we have Batman V Superman to look forward to.
But the big question is, can you really imagine Archie Clayton being a good name for Supes? let us know below.
