The Dengeki Bunko Autumn Festival saw the announcement that Sword Art Online will be getting a full length theatrical movie. This is the same festival where they announced the new Accel World anime project too.
Details are very sparse but what we do know is director of the flick will be Tomohiko Ito (Sword Art Online I & II, Gin no Saji) with character designs thanks to Shingo Adachi (Sword Art Online I & II). A-1 Pictures will be leading the production of the movie. Reki Kawahara will be writing the story for the film. Now the question is, will Sword Art Online movie to be an original story or focus on the Alicialization story arc?
Besides this big movie announcement, a four disc music CD collection was revealed for a 27 January 2016 release. This particular collection will include a whopping 131 music pieces composed by legendary Yuki Kajiura (Magica Puella Magi Madoka, Madlax) for Sword Art Online, Sword Art Online II and Sword Art Online: Extra Edition TV film plus unused works. The collection retails for 3800 Yen (US$31.69) for standard version whereas the collectors version will cost 4500 Yen (US$37.53) which comes with a bonus Blu-Ray.
