You heard us right, Mountain Dew is holding one of Malaysia’s largest amateur DoTA 2 and Hearthstone tourneys with RM 180,000 worth of prizes for the Mountain Dew: Dew Challenge.
For those not in the know, the Dew Challenge this year is focusing on e-Sports, focusing on local amateur teams for the popular MOBA and card game. In past the Dew Challenge has seen participants go through physical and mental challenges and now its down to who has the sharpest strategies and the fastest fingers.
The two games, popular MOBA DoTA 2 and online card game Hearthstone will be part of the competition, with DoTA being a team competition and Hearthstone being an individual competition.
Bear in mind that professional e-Sports players aren’t eligible, this challenge is for amateur league players only! So don’t be expecting to face up against people from Fnatic.
For DoTA 2, the top four of six teams from each region will qualify for the national-level group stage on 4 December as will the top four teams from the University/College category. The finalists will battle it out for the RM 150,000 grand prize during the Grand Finale. You can check out the full details here.
The Hearthstone challenge on the other hand will run ever Saturday from 10 October til 28 November with registration every Monday prior to each qualifier. More details here.
