Heads up! the Ant-Man sequel is official! Following the landslide success of the Ant-Man movie, Marvel Studios has just announced that a sequel is officially on its way.
The next movie is set to hit cinemas 6 July 2018, and the sequel will be called Ant-Man and The Wasp. This technically makes this the first Marvel film with a female lead in the title, since the movie is now ahead of Captain Marvel, which will be releasing a year later.
Scott Land (Paul Rudd) will be back alongside Hope van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly) for another size shifting adventure. The previous movie got a grand total of 409.8M in revenue, with more likely to come when the film open in China come 16 October.
However the new film’s release date will have a couple of other films shifting their dates around as well, with Black Panther moving up to 16 February 2018 and Captain Marvel going to 8 March 2019.
Ant-Man’s next appearance will be in Captain America: Civil War. We don’t know the full premise about the next movie, but we expect it to be as jam packed with action as the first.
