Running since 2001, Tite Kubo’s long running manga series Bleach is finally coming to an end, with the 74th volume to be its final issue.
The last issue will be coming this Fall, with the news coming in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine’s 31st issue. The manga entered its final story arc in Feb 2012.
The English translation is being handled by Viz Media.
Bleach has come a very long way, inspiring an anime adaptation that ran a good 366 episodes between 2004 and 2006, as well as a series of novels, video games, four anime films and a handful of stage musicals. Bleach has come a very, very long way.
To top it off, Viz Media says they will be releasing the English dub in Blu-Ray format starting 19 July.
Hopefully this last chapter will be one that does the series justice.
