The upcoming Power Rangers movie reboot finally has a full trailer and it shows off the Rangers and their new powers. By the looks of it, the movie will have a different tone from the original series, but we’ll let you be the judge of whether it’s a good thing or not.

To start off, the Rangers aren’t the same as the originals, they’re a rag-tag bunch of teens who come from a less than ideal high-school, and instead of having their powers seemingly come from their suits, their bodies seem to have been incredibly enhanced.

We also catch a small glimpse of Rita Repulsa, and are treated to Jason morphing into the Red Ranger. As for the plot, it basically is following five high-school kids as they save Angel Grove (and of course, the world) against an alien threat, with their own newly acquired abilities.

I’m not entirely sure I like the new take on the Rangers but I’ll still watch it for the sake of seeing where the story goes. Hopefully, the next trailers will let us see some of the Zords in action.

The cast has none other than Dacre Montgomery as Jason, RJ Cyler as Billy, Naomi Scott as Kimberly, Becky G as Trini and Ludi Lin as Zack, with Bryan Cranston as Zordon.

Power Rangers hits cinemas 24 March 2017.
