It ain’t quite the board from Back to the Future but great Scott it works!
Lexus has finally shown off its superconducting hoverboard, the latest bit of their Amazing in Motion project in a custom built skate park. Similar in vein to the Hendo hoverboard but it runs on a different mechanism altogether, using a combination of liquid nitrogen cooled cryostat and a special magnetic track. And that’s what makes it a cool board, running at -197 celcius, pun totally intended.
You probably will never see it on the street but you can check out the video below to see some skaters pull of some neat tricks with it, including skimming over water. Now if someone would please make a board the everyman can use?
