Looks like the new Hoshin Engi anime got a brand new visual recently, courtesy of the show’s official Twitter account.
It wasn’t too long ago that Shueisha’s Young Jump magazine revealed the anime, which is likely to be a remake instead of a sequel to the original 1999 TV anime.
On top of the new visual, we also have the three main cast members and their respective voice actors revealed, which are different from the ones who played the main characters from the previous series.
- Kensho Ono as Taikōbō
- Tomoaki Maeno as Bunchū
- Takahiro Sakurai as Sūpūshan (Sibuxiang)
As the story goes, it is roughly based on the ancient Chinese novel Fengshen Yanyi, where an evil sorceress has bewitched the emperor of a powerful dynasty; rendering him into a mindless puppet. The country gets overrun by evil spirits as it falls to shambles. This results in the Confederation of the Immortal Masters to send a young master wizard to hunt down the villains and evil warlocks in the land in a bid to save the country.
No real word on when exactly the anime will be out, but you can check out the new visual below!
