After news that Studio Manglobe was going under, the Genocidal Organ film that was set to come out this November, has sadly been delayed. This is on top of all the other troubles the studio is going thru, and it doesn’t look like this will be the last.
Instead, the release order of the three Project Itoh films has been reshuffled, with Harmony coming out in 13 November instead of 4 December, The Empire of Corpses to open this week and finally Genocidal Organ at a later date.
Each Project Itoh novel film will be produced by a different director and studio. We’re not sure why they decided to do this but its likely to give each movie its own fresh style.
Shukou Murase(Witch Hunter Robin, Gangsta., Ergo Proxy) will direct Genocidal Organ at Manglobe (The Unlimited – Hyōbu Kyōsuke, House of Five Leaves), Takashi Nakamura (Fantastic Children) andMichael Arias (Tekkonkinkreet) will direct Harmony at Studio 4°C (Berserk: The Golden Age Arc I – The Egg of the King, Tweeny Witches), while Ryoutarou Makihara will direct The Empire of Corpses at WIT STUDIO (Attack on Titan, Hōzuki no Reitetsu).
All three films are planned for a theatrical release in 2016. So hang on tight.
