We thought we’d never get them but thank goodness the Shell V-Power Lego collection is now available in Malaysia. The set which consists of seven different Lego sets that will be released weekly, will be available for purchase in Shell stations starting 1 Nov.
We first reported about the collection last year when it was made available in Singapore but after the a campaign by Greenpeace last year, the long standing partnership between Shell and Lego was terminated, and many a Lego fan here didn’t think they’d ever see those sets reaching our shores. That however doesn’t seem to be the case as the Shell V-Power Lego promotion has begin in earnest since November 1.
The entire collection consists of seven different Shell V-Power Lego sets and they are the Ferrari F138, the Shell Fiorano Station set, the Ferrari 250 GTO, the Ferrari F12 Berlinetta, the Ferrari 512S, the Ferrari Podium set and the Shell Tanker set. Each set will be released once a week starting November 1 all the way till December 13.
And how can you get your grubby hands on the complete set? Head to your nearest Shell petrol station and pump up. With a minimum purchase of RM40 of Shell V-Power and Shell FuelSave, you’ll be allowed to purchase the Lego sets. Prices will vary though. If you pumped up a minimum of RM40 of Shell V-Power 97 and Racing, you’ll be able to purchase each Lego set at RM9.90. This also applies if you were to purchase the 4-litre Shell Helix HX7, HX5 or Ultra motor oils.
If you were to pump up with Shell FuelSave 95 and Diesel however, you can purchase the Lego set at RM13.90. In the case of the limited-edition Shell Tanker set though, you will only be able to get the set at RM9.90 if you pump up with a minimum of RM40 of Shell V-Power 97 and Racing, or purchase the 4-litres of Shell Helix HX5 or HX7 motor oils. You’ll get it FREE with every purchase of 4-litre Shell Helix Ultra motor oil though.
In conjunction with the launch of this promo, Shell is also be running activity centres in Sunway Pyramid, Selangor, from 5 to 8 Novemember and Gurney Plaza, Penang, from 12 to 15 November where they’ll be able to view giant size versions of the Lego Ferrari cars as well as take part in interactive activities.
Roving trucks will also be moving around the Klang Valley, Ipoh, Melaka and other selected locations nationwide with the life-size Lego replica of the Scuderia Ferrari Formula One car.
With the first week almost over, Lego fans might want to quickly head out and pump up. Considering the popularity of the sets in the promo back in 2012, we won’t be surprised if stocks run out fast. And to add more fuel to the fire, since Lego and Shell have terminated their partnership, this will also be the LAST time we’ll ever see the Shell Lego sets again, as there won’t be any future sets. Talk about collectors items.
