The guys who are currently producing Resident Evil: The Final Chapter are interested in making a movie based on Capcom‘s Monster Hunter!
Monster Hunter is one of Capcom’s more popular franchises, with a whole slew of games on the Nintendo 3DS, which has you hacking (and harvesting) your way through the local monster population to make better equipment, rinse and repeat. Rumours about a movie have been floating around for awhile, but Capcom announced that there will be a movie at TGS this year.
However, with all game to movie adaptations, hardcore fans might not be too happy about the news; because let’s just face it, it’s really hard to make a faithful adaptation of any game. As for what we currently know about the movie, its that various creatures from the Monster Hunter universe invade our own, modern reality, which results in mankind having to rise up to fend them off.
For every Monster, there is a Hero. An ordinary man in a dead end job discovers that he is actually the descendant of an ancient hero. He must travel to a mystical world to train to become a Monster Hunter, before the mythical creatures from that world destroy ours.
