Sunrise just announced that Tiger & Bunny is getting a live-action Hollywood film adaptation. Oh my.

Announced at the New York Comic Con, the film adaptation will be produced by All Nippon Entertainment Works and Ron Howard (A Beautiful Mind, The Da Vinci Code) as well as Brian Grazer from Imagine Entertainment, as announced at the Bandai Namco Pictures panel.

Sandy Climan from All Nippon Entertainment states that “We want to blend the best of the original property that is true and faithful to the characters for the fans.” so does this mean they will be sticking close to the source material? hopefully so!

The original series centered around superheroes for hire, known as NEXT who wear sponsor logos while fighting crime on live TV. The series already has had two movies, Tiger & Bunny the Movie: The Beginning in 2012 and Tiger & Bunny The Movie -The Rising- which aired last year. The story takes place in Stern Bild, a city modeled after Manhattan.

The project however, is still looking for a director and screenwriter. They will probably announce the finer details once they have made their crew public so sit tight and marvel at the idea of a triple A Tiger & Bunny movie!
