The latest comic book icon to be getting its own big film is Todd McFarlane’s Spawn, who had their last movie about a decade ago. Read on for more.

Considering Hollywood is remaking every big IP it can get its claws on, it’s about time that someone gave Spawn a bit of the limelight. McFarlane himself is working on a script for the new Spawn movie, and he says that it won’t be a sequel of the 1997 film.

I’ve finished the script, and I’m in the process of editing. It’s 183 pages, and [producers] usually like 120. I still think it’s going to end up being about 140, because I’m putting in details for myself.

The new movie will also be spookier than the 1997 movie; with Spawn being less of the main character but more as a creature lurking in the background ala Jaws. Of course, its a bit early for casting but it will be interesting to see who they have in store as Spawn himself.

So what do you think about this Spawn reboot? let us know in the comments.
