Sony has finally found themselves an actor for the role of a young Jake Chambers for the upcoming film adaptation for The Dark Tower.
Tom Taylor will be taking the role of Jake, joining Idris Elba and Matthew McConaughey to portray gunslinger Roland Deschain and the Man In Black. Nikolaj Arcel as director.
The Dark Tower isn’t a direct adaptation of the book however, but instead will ride us up to the middle of Roland’s quest to find the titular tower. The movie will also be taking place mostly in the modern world, leading fans to speculate that the movie might be ore based on the third book in the series, The Waste Lands.
There apparently are plans to make the film part of a trilogy with a TV show component but there isn’t any official news on this yet.
The Dark Tower is set for release come 17 February 2017, with filming to begin soon.
