2. TMNT Tournament Fighters

This game came out at a time where copycat 2D fighting games were all the rage in the arcades. So to stand out from all the copycats out there, the SNES version just lifted the bits that made Street Fighter II great and added their own new features.
This version of Tournament Fighters came with a plethora of unique additions. There were two-button super moves that could only charge-up if you were aggressive enough, a diverse cast of fighters like a grappler archetype with mid-screen zoning, and of course, a control scheme fit for a standard four face button SNES gamepad. No wonder this marvel of a fighting game is still highly cherished by old-school gamers.
Platform: Super NES
