Recently, the My Navi Student portal ran an online poll to find which manga series were so long that the readers couldn’t continue or given up in the middle.

500 working adults participated in the poll and 325 of them admitted that they quit at least one series after following it for some time. These manga were simply too long for readers to maintain interest to continue. This is some of the most famous titles here. On to the results:

  2. One Piece by Eiichiro Oda. (79 volumes currently)
  3. Kochikame by Osamu Akimoto. (196 volumes currently)
  4. Hunter x Hunter by Yoshihiro Togashi. (32 volumes currently)
  5. Oishinbo by Tetsu Kariya and Akira Hanasaki. (111 volumes currently)
  6. Naruto by Masashi Kishimoto. (72 volumes)
  7. Kimi ni Todoke: From Me to You by Karuho Shiina (24 volumes currently)
  8. Glass Mask by Suzue Miuchi (49 volumes currently)
  9. Gintama by Hideaki Sorachi. (60 volumes currently)
  10. Kindaichi Case Files by Yōzaburō Kanari, Seimaru Amagi, and Fumiya Satō. (71 volumes currently)

Several honourable mentions are Shingeki no Kyojin/Attack on Titan (17 volumes currently), Golgo 13 (177 volumes currently), Hajime no Ippo (111 volumes currently) and Yu-Gi-Oh! (38 volumes)

Kochikame takes the crown for being the longest running series, with 196 tankubon volumes already printed and no signs of it stopping anytime soon. The serialization began in September 1976 and still printing in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump.
