That’s right, TV Asahi is collaborating with Philippine animation and game dev Synergy88 for a brand new anime based on basketball.
Barangay 143 would be the story of basketball players in Manila (barangay generally meaning a clustered community or an administrative unit of a town or city).
The anime is set to air in 2017, though there isn’t any clear indicator when it will air in the Philippines. The anime may be pushed out to other Southeast Asian markets as well.
There isn’t any other information about the anime at the moment, but hopefully they’ll divulge more on the characters and voice cast soon.
