If you’ve wanted a new avenue for sharing your daily stuff with the vast internet, Twitch now has a dedicated channel for vlogging aptly called IRL.
Basically, IRL is the next step in Twitch’s move away from being a purely gaming streaming service to having everything under their roof; with their first expansion being the Social Eating channel.
So if you’re a Twitch user who’s a bit sick of just streaming gameplay, you can grab your camera and well, just talk about random things while you’re on the way to grab your latte. Twitch is working on their mobile app too, so it can capture and stream camera video to allow more peeps to vlog with ease.

But there is a small catch to the new channel, which basically means changes to Twitch’s General Conduct rules. Here’s just a few types of content that aren’t allowed to be streamed:
- Copyrighted material like movies, TV shows, sports, live performances and web browsing
- Unattended content, meaning no sleeping on stream, no house/city cams or pet cams.
- Content shot with video capture equipment and a moving vehicle simultaneously
- Stuff for pre-existing categories like gaming, poker, tabletop and etc.
- Everything else already covered under General Conduct
We’re not sure how this would affect Twitch as a whole, but it would be nice to see what your fave streamers are up to when they’re not in front of a monitor.
