Based on Gerard Way and Gabriel Ba’s comic book of the same name, the 10-episode drama is set to hit Netflix.
The series had been in development for about two years when Netflix picked it up. The live-action adaptation of the comics will be focusing on the estranged members of a dysfunctional family of superheroes; namely The Monocle, Spaceboy, The Kraken, The Rumor, The Seance, Number Five, The Horror and The White Violin.
They form the Umbrella Academy and they work to solve their father’s mysterious death while their various abilities and personalities make things worse.
Umbrella Academy debuts sometime in 2018.
