The upcoming Pacific Rim 2 and Godzilla 2 movies are getting their own titles, as announced by Legendary.
The films in question are Godzilla: King of the Monsters and Pacific Rim: Uprising, shedding their numerals from the titles. This would also be the third name we’ve heard for Steven S. DeKnight’s take on Guillermo Del Toro’s Pacific Rim 2, the show previously sporting the name Pacific Rim: Maelstrom as well.
If the new titling for Godzilla 2 seems familiar, it’s basically a throwback to the American release of the original 1954 Godzilla movie, which makes it pretty brilliant in itself.
Pacific Rim: Uprising is set for a 23 February 2018 release while Godzilla: King of the Monsters is set to hit 22 March 2019.
