Final Fantasy x Louis Vuitton

Louis Vuitton X Final Fantasy

And finally, we come to this. The Final Fantasy and Louis Vuitton collaboration. Unlike the rest of the fashion brand and video games collaboration we’ve mentioned so far, the Final Fantasy and Louis Vuitton (LV) collaboration isn’t so much a bunch of T-shirts with the logos pasted on. Heaven forbids that the famous LV brand has dropped to that standard. Instead, what has happened is Final Fantasy XIII‘s main character Lightning, has now become a model and muse for the fashion house.

Yep you read right, you’ll be seeing Lightning pasted all over the LV billboards and stores (in fact, one of it is already up over in Mid Valley Mega Mall in Kuala Lumpur). Now, we’re not fashionista’s over here at The Hyped Geek but we have a feeling that LV’s spring summer collection for 2016 took a lot of inspiration from the digital heroine of Final Fantasy XIII. There’s even a jacket that looks suspiciously similar to the one Lightning wears in the game, except it’s in pink.

Reality and fantasy become one : lightning a genuine heroine in the new @louisvuitton series 4 ad campaign

There’s even a video ad which LV’s creative director, Nicolas Ghesquière, unveiled in his Instagram post. Considering the popularity of the Final Fantasy series, we did expect a major fashion brand to eventually work with Square Enix but not the likes of LV. And with their signing up of Jaden Smith as one of their faces for the brand, we’re chalking this up as the brands attempt to target a younger crowd.

So there you have it, our list of video games and fashion brand collaborations. Think we missed anything out? Just drop us a comment then and we’ll add it in.
