In a rather odd choice of crossover novel; Toaru Majutsu no Index x Dennō Senki Virtual-On: Toaru Majutsu no Virtual-On (A Certain Magical Index x Cyber Troopers Virtual-On: A Certain Magical Virtual-On) is set to drop 10 May.
This will be a brand new story which will be celebrating a “miraculous collaboration” of the legendary arcade game and Magical Index! A Certain Magical Index, thanks to light novelist Kazuma Kamachi and Virtual-On designer Hajime Katoki.
So far A Certain Magical Index has inspired two anime adaptations, a multitude of manga adaptations as well as a 2013 anime film. Its A Certain Scientific Railgun spinoff manga has also inspired two anime adaptations as well as an OVA.
Cyber Troopers Virtual-On on the other hand is Sega’s robot fighting game franchise which you might have seen at least once in an arcade near you. The most recent game, Cyber Troopers Virtual-On Marz shipped in 2003 for the Playstation 2.
