Ai Takabe 27, the voice actress in Aoi Hana (2009) as Fumi Manjoume, Hourou Musuko (2011) as Maiko, Sacred Seven (2011) as SP, and Kill Me Baby (2012) as Agiri Goshiki has been arrested for cocaine possession by Tokyo Metropolitan Police on 15th October 2015.
Upon receiving confirmation of her arrest by the police, her management agency terminated the contract and representation rights immediately. What’s more, three major Japanese streaming sites – Amazon Video, NicoNico Douga and Bandai Channel stopped selling those three animes that she joined as the voice actress.
However, strangely Bandai still streaming Sacred Seven right now, with fans speculating that it is because Ai Takabe did not play a major role in the series hence the availability.
She has already admitted to the charges and said that she got the substance from her friend. The police found the illegal drug during a house search after receiving a tip-off.
The news report also indicated that her urine test is showed a positive reaction to the drug. The former gravure (bikini) award winner and voice actress would be hauled in court to face charges of possession and usage of cocaine soon under Narcotics Control Law.
