The Matrix is about to get a reboot courtesy of Warner Bros. and the sci-fi movie is already eyeing their main star.

Michael B. Jordan (Creed, The Fantastic Four, Black Panther) is reportedly being eyeballed for the lead role, which would put him in the shoes of Neo if the reboot is faithful to the original. However, as the Hollywood Reporter was informed, several projects would need to be cleared for Jordan to take the role.

The writing for the reboot will be handled by Zak Penn, who is known for The Incredible Hulk, Elektra and Steven Spielberg’s Ready Player One movie adaptation. However, we don’t know if the Wachowski siblings will be involved with the film, as the directors of the original Matrix trilogy or will the original actors from the first three movies be making their appearance.

A potential release date and plot details haven’t been released yet, but given that it’s a reboot, it shouldn’t be too different from the original movie.
