In the current TV series revival craze that is going on, Will Smith’s production company, Overbrook Entertainment, is currently in early production stages of a rebooted The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air TV series with Will Smith himself as the producer of the show.
Currently, not much is known about the reboot of the show except that it will bring a new spin to the fish-out-of-water story that the original had with a modern update while still keeping the spirit of the original show. The show currently has no release window and Overbrook Entertainment is still finalizing its pitch.
NBC had previously hosted all six seasons of the original The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air but, according to NBC Entertainment Chairman Robert Greenblatt, is currently not involved in the reboot. However, he (Robert Greenblatt) is willing to discuss with Will Smith about it.
