There are two highly anticipated DC related titles that will be hitting the idiot box this year and that’s the Arrow spin-off Flash and Gotham, the Batman prequel exploring the Dark Knight universe before there was well… the Dark Knight. We just can’t wait for both to debut and honestly all this waiting is kind of making us antsy.

Well Fox has decided to satiate our Gotham cravings (or just make it even worst) by releasing four preview videos for the series. All four videos explore the making of the series from the conceptualisation, look and even direction for Gotham peppered  with interviews of the cast and crew. So far, it’s managed to get us even more excited for the release of the pilot, and although we do have some misgivings about the show being on Fox (remember the cancellation of Firefly), we do hope that it’ll go beyond just a season.

Considering that The Mentalist‘s lead man Bruno Heller is helming this project though, there’s a high chance that Gotham could go above and beyond. After all, with seven seasons of The Mentalist under his belt, we’re sure he’s able to come up with a winning formula for TV longevity. Still, Joss Whedon also had seven seasons of Buffy the Vampire Slayer under his belt but failed to keep Firefely on for a full season on the network. That’s FOX for you but let’s not jinx it.

Gotham follows a pre-commissioner Jim Gordon ((Ben McKenzie) and his partner Harvey Bullock (Donal Logue) as they tackle the crime and corrupt ridden city of Gotham. In the show we’ll see the rise and beginings of all our famous Batman villains, from the Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor), Riddler (Cory Michael Smith), Catwoman(Camren Bicondova). And there’s of course a young Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz), newly orphaned and of which the series will also be exploring his relationship with Jim Gordon.

So, are you guys excited for the release of Gotham yet?
