Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine reported that its next issue will feature a manga series from Makoto Raiko the creator of Zatch Bell! titled Vector Ball

The series that will be published on April 27, is described as a “school fantasy manga about bonds”. The debut of the series will be 62 pages in length with a coloured first page.

The manga artist is best known for shonen manga Zatch Bell! that ran between 2001 to 2007, published by Shogakukan’s Weekly Shonen Sunday. The manga series has also been released in North America by Viz Media, although it was discontinued after 25 book volumes out of the 33 complete book volumes that are published by Shogakukan.

In addition, the series has also received a 150 episode anime TV adaptation that ran from 2003 to 2006. It has also spawned two anime film adaptation, Konjiki no Gash Bell!! 101 Banme no Mamono in 2004 and Gekijou Ban Konjiki no Gash Bell!! Mecabarukan no Raishuu in 2005.

Raiku has also won the Best Children’s Manga category in the 37th Kodansha Manga Award for his manga series Animal Land.  The children’s manga series is about a baby, raised by a tanuki, that ended up in a world solely inhabited by animals after being abandoned by his mother. The series has also been included in a list of “Great Graphic Novels for Teens” in 2012 by The Young Adult Library Services Association
