It hardly feels like its been seven years since Zombieland hit the theatres, but Sony Pictures isn’t ready to let the franchise die just yet.

For those who didn’t catch it (or don’t remember it) Zombieland is a post apocalyptic zombie comedy movie that pretty much about a geeky college kid who’s just trying to survive the end of the world.

The movie itself wasn’t too bad, it had the usual zombie gore, lots of running and the odd quip that made the movie somewhat memorable. That and a short cameo from Bill Murray made it all the better.

The flick’s original writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick (who also wrote Deadpool) are still attached to the sequel.

“It’s actually still in development at Sony, they’ve had a couple writers take a crack at it, we’re still exec producers and we’re guiding and helping where we can and I think there’s still very much talk about it, but I think it has to be right. I think all the actors and [Zombieland director] Ruben [Fleischer] all feel like there’s no reason to do it again if we’re not getting it exactly right.”

We’re not sure how they would handle a sequel because we feel hat the movie can stand on its own pretty well, but what do you think the sequel might be like? let us know in the comments.
