The ultimate showdown of monster beasts is upon us!
Legendary Picture’s next King Kong flick, “Kong: Skull Island” is heading over to the hands of the Warner Bros, who already has in their hands the rights to Toho’s Godzilla. According to Deadline, the Godzilla sequel that was in the works was in fact already planning to put the two icons against each other. Likely leveling a few cities in the process.
It won’t be the first time the two giants have crossed paths, and with the 2014 re-imagining of Godzilla, the stage is ripe for a whole new movie. The last Godzilla movie grossed a good $529.1 million worldwide, with the sequel announced for 8 June 2018 on Kong’s own island.
Don’t forget, there has also been mentioned that Guillermo del Toro would love to see some Jaeger vs Godzilla if there ever is a third Pacific Rim movie.
The movie will be directed by Jordan Vogt-Roberts and will be staring Brie Larson, Corey Hawkins, Jason Mitchell and surprisingly Tom Hiddleston, with a potential release date of 10 March 2017.
I mean, what’s the worst that could happen?
