EA’s Origin Access has finally hit Malaysia, letting local gamers play as many games (as listed by EA) as they want for a monthly fee.

The service was officially launched sometime last month, and the service sort of operates like Netflix, except with EA’s game titles instead of shows. At the moment, Origin Access has the same games available as the US players, with 15 games available to play from The Vault.

These include popular titles like Dragon Age: Inquisition, FIFA 15, games from the Battlefield series, The Sims 3 and This War of Mine to name a few.

Subscribers also will get a access to a service called Play First Trials that let gamers try out new releases or upcoming titles. Should they decide to purchase the full game, they will get to keep their game progress. Sounds good to us!

However only two games are available under the trials at the moment, the freshly released Unravel and Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare 2, which are free to play for up to 10 hours.

Subscribers also get 10% off all Origins titles to boot. However the catalogue features mostly older titles but if you’re into multiplayer, you might still find a lot of enjoyment in games like Battlefield 4 and Battlefield Hardline.

The subscription currently fee clocks in at SGD 6.45 (which comes up to about RM 19) a month, which isn’t too bad considering how expensive games can be. EA says they’re working on bringing in more of their own and 3rd party titles so we expect to see the service expanding over the course of the year.
