The popular Cartoon Network series which ran from 1998 to 2005 is coming back and now, the network has unveiled it’s new theme song. Titled Who’s got the Power, the song is the work of the band Tacocat, a surf-pop band from Seattle Washington.
The new theme has some elements of the original’s ending theme by Bis, which is the version everyone remembers (most people sometimes mistake it for the opening theme). The rock-pop feel the new theme has is a perfect accompaniment to the new series and still manages to keep to the upbeat spirit of the original series.

If that doesn’t get you, the opening sequence might as well. Unlike the more simple opening of the original, the new sequence is a riot of colours which fits perfectly with the upbeat theme song of the reboot.
We can’t wait to see the new series and with most of the original cast and crew NOT returning for the reboot, it’ll be interesting to see just how the new PowerPuff Girls will fare compared to its predecessor. Mind you, this isn’t the first time the Powerpuff Girls came back. Who remember the anime version which was made back in 2006 to 2007?
