Guillermo del Toro’s Pacific Rim 2 has spent way too long in development hell but now it looks like its finally happening!
Pacific Rim 2 has been given a 2018 release date, to come out 23 February that year. Also, John Boyega (Finn in Star Wars: The Force Awakens) is joining the cast as the main star of the movie!
Originally it was set to release in 2017, but that changed when Del Toro left the director’s seat.
Pacific Rim 2 is being directed by Steven S. DeKnight (Daredevil) and there’s high hopes that he’ll give us a really solid movie.
Del Toro is still on the project as an executive producer. There isn’t any details about the story out as of yet but there’ll likely be giant kaiju vs mech action. It ain’t quite Pacific Rim if it doesn’t.
