Looks like Tōken Ranbu Mihotoseno Komoriuta is coming to the region! Just…we’re not quite getting it.

For those unfamiliar with the series, Touken Ranbu “sword personification training game” basically takes famous swords from Japanese history and turns them into bishounen. The franchise has since spawned manga, anime and various other tie-ins since its it came out in 2015.

The musical will be screened as a theatrical live-viewing in Hong Kong, Taiwan, Thailand and Indonesia on 23 April for all four countries in addition to the screenings in Japan. The musical debuted 4 March and will run til 23 April in Japan, before heading to China in late May.

The cast includes Tsubasa Sakiyama as Ishikirimaru, Hirofumi Araki as Nikkari Aoe, Motohiro Ōta as Sengo Muramasa, spi as Tonbokiri, Ryūgi Yokota as Monoyoshi Sadamune, and Takuma Zaiki as Ookurikara.

Sadly, Malaysia and Singapore isn’t getting theatrical screenings (awww) but hopefully they’ll consider paying us a visit in the future.
