Sword Art Online is getting another TV anime project, as revealed at the Dengeki Bunko Fall Festival 2017 on Sunday.
The new anime will be based on Keiichi Sigsawa’s Sword Art Online Alternative Gun Gale Online novel series, and it will follow Karen Kohiruimaki, an overly tall (183cm/6ft) college student that’s insecure about her height and is socially awkward.
She then enters the world of Gun Gale Online with her much shorter avatar, Llenn, where she meets up with a beautiful female player called Pitohui. One day Pitohui pressures her into joining a “Squad Jam” team Battle Royale version of the Bullet of Bullets tournament.
Tomori Kusunoki will voice Llenn, while Yoko Hikasa will star as Pitohui, followed by Kazuyuki Okitsu as M and Chinatsu Akasaki as Fukaziroh. Llenn will also be a playable character in Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet.
