Yokohama based Anicall Corp recently unveiled a wearable gadget not built for humans, but for pet cats and dogs. Shown for the first time at the recent Wearable Device Technology Expo at Tokyo’s Big Sight (yes, the famous shrine for Comiket), it is a specific gadget that comes with the associated app (both iOS and Android) for pet owners to communicate with the wearable device.

The company said that the device can measure heart rate and body temperature of the pet, critical in countries with seasons because pets could risk a heat stroke if left too long under the summer sun or get too chilled. Incredibly, the company insists that the app can analyze the pictures of your pet via smartphone and by measuring its ears and mouth, it could inform the pet owner if the cat or dog is happy or not.

The device will use Bluetooth to transfer information between the app and the device, with the package being available by the end of this year. However, Anicall said it is only for dogs and cats so owners of more exotic pets are in tough luck. So far, the company have not decided what to call the product for the English market and haven’t finalized the pricing yet.
