Beloved actor and director Leonard Nimoy passed away of an end-stage chronic obstructive pulmonary disease on Friday morning.
Nimoy has had a long career as both director and actor but is known best for his portrayal as the half-Vulcan Mr.Spock from the Star Trek franchise and films. He had revealed last year that he was suffering from chronic lung disease COPD, and was taken to the hospital on 19 February for chest pains.
He later tweeted “A life is like a garden. Perfect moments can be had, but not preserved, except in memory”
He signed off with what was to be his final tweet with “LLAP” – “Live long and prosper”, a phrase closely associated with his character from the franchise.
Farewell Mr. Spock, you have lived long and prospered, we will miss you but your legacy will live on.
