20th Century Fox is pushing and promoting Ridley Scott’s (Gladiator, Blade Runner) latest movie, The Martian, starring Matt Damon as an astronaut left stranded on the Red Planet by mistake since he is presumed dead by the mission crew.

Why me?
Why me?
A plant! A plant!
A plant! A plant!
Ah crap

Hello?
Hello?

We can see images and stills of Matt Damon’s character Mark Watney going through a very lonely existence as he is trying to survive in the hostile environment. Some readers might recall Tom Hank’s Castaway while looking at the images. We can see Mark is examining a Martian plant life, the despondent astronaut resting against a human vehicle on Mars, the lonely figure against the desert like wasteland of Red Planet and single picture of former SNL star Kristen Wiig looking pretty confident for a change. Notice too that the astronaut is growing beard and mustache, signifying the passage of time on the planet.

Ah huh

Based on the best selling novel by Andy Weir, the story is Mark Watney got stranded lost on the planet and tries to contact Earth while tries to stockpile supplies for his survival. Meanwhile NASA is quickly assembling a mission to rescue the stranded astronaut with his crew members planning a dangerous mission to recover him.

The movie starring people like Jessica Chastain, Kate Mara, Michael Pena, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Jeff Daniels and Donald Glover and scheduled to hit the theaters on 25 November 2015.
